These matters involve injury to your person or property through the negligent or intentional acts or omissions of others. Examples are: automobile accidents, slip-and-fall cases, fraud, and professional malpractice. You have one year to file suit involving personal injury in Tennessee, although the law may extend that time for various periods of time if you did not reasonably discover your injury or the cause of it until after one year from its occurrence. - Business Law Matters
These matters include but are not limited to: formation or breach of a contract or lease, and trade or service mark acquisition. You generally have six years to file suit in Tennessee from the date of a breach of contract. - Other Matters
